Putting Twitter to Work: Position Twitter as a tool for listening and network building

Join us for Green Media Toolshed’s March Skill Building Training on March 24th with our Executive Director, Marty Kearns. Kearns will teach members how to tweet, respond, and listen to online conversation on Twitter. It will be a great opportunity for members who want to engage member and press audiences more through social media and create an effective strategy for action.

You Will Learn
You'll learn the how, why and what of Twitter via case studies. You'll finish the webinar knowing how to tweet, respond and listen via Twitter.

After the webinar you can:

  • Start regular tweeting.
  • Develop follow and response policies.
  • Start tracking topics names and keywords important to you via HootSuite

About the Presenter
Martin Kearns is an innovator in the field of netcentric campaigns and advocacy. He is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Green Media Toolshed. (www.greenmediatoolshed.org) GMT offers a professional suite of communication tools, strategic advice, trainings and services. He has pioneered integration of network principals to the field of civic organizing and social change work. He is the catalyst behind www.MobileActive.org, a network of activists who use cell phones for civic action and engagement.

Previously, Kearns also successfully founded the Georgia River Network, a group dedicated to preserving Georgia's rivers. Kearns worked on local, state and national political campaigns. Kearns has Masters in Environmental Science from Yale University.

Prerequisites:

  • Open accounts: Twitter, Hootsuite
  • Start "following" 5 individuals or organizations who/that are tweeting
  • Post three tweets

Register Online:
1. Go to the Green Media Toolshed Webex online training center at https://greenmediatoolshed.webex.com/.

2. Access the Training Center (note: not the Meeting Center)
3. You will be able to see trainings listed for "today" and those in the future. Make sure you are in the "Upcoming Trainings" section.
4. Locate the training titled Putting Twitter to Work: Position Twitter as a tool for listening and network building
5. Click on the Register link on the right hand side of the screen.
6. Complete the registration page.
7. Note your attendee ID number. You will need this when signing into the training on March 25th.
